This Halloween i gave out candy while the rest of my family either went out trick or treating or to a party. While giving out candy, i got ignored once and used my sarcastic humor with no laugh from the observers twice. One of my first trick or treaters was dressed up as iron man, and naturally at first i thought it was polite to exchange pleasantries after giving out the candy, but the kids were strictly business and wanted nothing to do with my conversation. well anyways little Iron Man was about 9 or 10 years of age, so of course i asked him how he felt about Don Cheadle taking the place of Terrence Howard as Rhodes a.k.a War Machine, after asking his opinion he just looked at me blankly and turned and walked away. originally i thought he was just plane rude but then i figured i scared the boy. then i had a little Optimus Prime come and he just started scooping up as much candy as possible and then reaching for more, so i said as a joke ” easy there Optimus, save some candy for the Decepticons” and then his father yelled at me and i apologized. Then this 12 year old kid came up and asked how many she could have, so i said “two”, then she grabbed six, so i said “or six” sarcastically, and she looked at me with a certain look on her face that made me feel like i was in the wrong.
